Cliché Rewriting Activity
One of the earlier assignments in the Composition class was to look at a set of clichés, or once clever sayings that have been overused so many times they've become boring, and rewrite them so they were more interesting and personal. The class looked through a very long list, and had to choose 5 of which we wanted to make our own new original sayings from. Even farther than that, the horrible slave driver Ms. Turcotte made us pick our favorite one, and from that we had to make a motivational poster of the saying. Here are the posters our class created.
Original Cliché: Crap Happens.
New Saying: Fire-breathing dragons are bound to spawn.

Original Cliché: Must I live my days in these concrete ways?
New Saying: Will I always be caught in the life of a robot?

Original Cliché: Think outside the box.
New Saying: Don't color inside the lines, when you can scribble!

Original Cliché: Life is good.
New Saying: Life is like a warm apple pie.
